Default Outlook 2007 Service Pack 1 will not ccomlpete installation - word 8 error

Hi Word 8 users

This is the message I get towards the end of stand alone install of Office
2007 SP1 and I have posted on the Outlook News Group but it may be a WinWord
2007 problem
"Outlook Service pack 1 will not install " Word.Document.8\shell\edit not
written"

I get the same error if I run repair from within Outlook although the Office
diagnostics report no errors.

I tried reinstalling office but the problem persists. Word 8 is working OK
in all respects as far as I can tell.

If you have any clues about fixing this I would be grateful
