You know, it may just be that I am a blind bat! but I seriously cannot find a
way to create a 2nd version of a document. Surely it is a matter of doing a
save as, new version, but there doesn't seem to be any option for it.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Hi Kylie,

If you're looking for the File=Versions equivalent of earlier editions of Word it's gone in Word 2007. That collaboration
functionallity has been moved to MS Sharepoint 2007.

If you're trying to save to a different file name then you can use
Office Button=Save As
and use a different name.
