one of my clients is having issues with opening documents. No matter what
document they open, there are a lot of extra pages "like 20 pages for a 5
page document." They think they might have changed a view setting but they
aren't sure which one and I have been unable to recreate the same thing on my
computer.

Hi Travis,

If you've created the document with hard page breaks at the bottom of each page, it's quite possible that a 5-page document on your
PC would display as a 9-page document on the client's PC. That's because Word uses the printer driver to work out how the document's
contents should be displayed (and printed). If the client uses a different printer driver (or even the same driver with a different
configuration), different results are quite possible.

A 5-page document changing to a 20-page document is unlikely, however, unless the client is reducing the page size and/or increasing
the margin or font sizes.
