Default Table splitting across page break (Word 2007)

I have a table which keeps splitting itself across the page break, and I want
it to stay all on one page. I have unchecked "allow row to split across
pages" in the Table Properties dialogue, and still it is splitting. Can
anyone help?

There are a number of settings to check. For example, you may have "Page
break before" and/or €śKeep with next€ť (Format Paragraph Line and Page
Breaks tab) turned on for all of or some of the paragraphs on the second
page. See also:

Aha! Thank you. It took me forever to find the "keep with next", but once I
found it hidden in there I was golden

Thanks again,
Bryan

You are welcome.

I should have told where the Paragraph dialog box is hidden in Word 2007.
Note that you can add the dialog box to the QAT if you need it often:
Right-click the little arrow (referred to as a "dialog launcher") in the
bottom-right corner of the Paragraph group of the Home tab and select "Add to
Quick Access Toolbar".

Ah! That's good to know. Thanks again.

It seems like the paragraph properties shows up on the right click menu,
except when you are working with tables. That explains my troubles.

Yes, it is correct that "Paragraph" is often found in the right-click menu
and when it is there, it is fast to select it. However, as you have seen, it
does not always appear. The right-click menus are context sensitive. A table
is one type of context where "Paragraph" does not appear. Text with spelling
errors is another example of context where "Paragraph" does not appear.
