Default include LISTNUM in style definition?

Is there any way to create a styled paragraph that allows you to include a
LISTNUM field code inside the style definition to do simple numbering,
therefore, avoiding Word 2007's built-in numbering? If so how?

No, that isn't possible.

However, you can create an AutoText entry (Building Block) that inserts a
field. For simple numbering, I'd use a SEQ field.
