Default non ascii characters

I have some old files made in WordStar for windows. If I open them in word
pad I can read them except most words end in a non ascii character. I
should be able to run that file thru a filter that turns the 8th bit into a
0 but don't know how. Can any suggest a filter?

You can download the old WordStar filter from my web site. I have not tested
with Word 2010 yest, but it works with versions up to 2007.
