Default Table overlaps footer on Word doc. Need it to stop doing that.

As I type information into my table, the table expands - which is ok - only
it expands over my footer. NOT OK. How do I make it stop at the bottom
margin to make it NOT cover the footer? It seems to have a mind of its own.

Thumbs up Answer: Table overlaps footer on Word doc. Need it to stop doing that.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your table overlaps with the footer in your Word document. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to prevent this from happening.
  1. Adjust the table properties:
    - Click anywhere inside the table to select it.
    - Go to the "Layout" tab in the ribbon.
    - Click on "Properties" in the "Table" group.
    - In the "Table Properties" dialog box, go to the "Row" tab.
    - Under "Options," check the box next to "Specify height" and enter a value that is smaller than the height of your footer.
    - Click "OK" to save the changes.
  2. Adjust the footer properties:
    - Double-click on the footer to open the "Footer Tools" tab in the ribbon.
    - Click on "Page Number" in the "Header & Footer" group.
    - Select "Format Page Numbers" from the drop-down menu.
    - In the "Page Number Format" dialog box, go to the "Layout" tab.
    - Under "Page Position," select "Bottom of page (footer)" and click "OK" to save the changes.
  3. Adjust the page margins:
    - Go to the "Page Layout" tab in the ribbon.
    - Click on "Margins" in the "Page Setup" group.
    - Select "Custom Margins" from the drop-down menu.
    - In the "Page Setup" dialog box, go to the "Margins" tab.
    - Under "Bottom," enter a value that is larger than the height of your table.
    - Click "OK" to save the changes.

By following these steps, you should be able to prevent your table from overlapping with the footer in your Word document. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask!

Note: No macro or Visual Basic code was found in the text.

Go to Table Properties | Table and change the text wrapping to None.
