Style numbering itself in update
When I create a new document, and use the feature to update the document to a
specific template, one of the style changes to include a number, which is not in the original template. Why? I would be willing to send that template for tryout Thanks |

Open the template as a document, and be sure to remove numbering from the
affected style (choose the "None" option even if already appears to be selected in the numbering options). Then open the document. Does that help? -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Yves Boisvert" wrote in message ... The templates does not have a numbering assigned to it. However, when you
open a document from the template, there is no problems. The problems starts when you have a document, and that you update that document usinf the "tools/templates and add ins/update automatically" this is when the style geassigned a number. Thanks for the reply but the issue still on going "Stefan Blom" wrote: Open the template as a document, and be sure to remove numbering from the affected style (choose the "None" option even if already appears to be selected in the numbering options). Well, the question is where the underlying problem is: within the document
or within the template. If modifying the style in the template (or replacing it with a style from another document or template) does not help, I would say that the problem is with the document. Try this: Copy and paste the problem document contents except for the final paragraph mark, into a new document (see also http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/corruptdoc.htm). Then attach the template, and see what happens. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Yves Boisvert" wrote in message ... The templates does not have a numbering assigned to it.
