Default Tables cutting of the top of text

Often when I have inserted a line in a table it comes out very slim top to
bottom. Then when I type in words the tops of the letters are cut off to the
point of being unreadable.

Make sure the row height isn't set to an Exact amount that is too small for
the text.

Go to Table Properties in the Table menu and select the Row tab. This is
where you will find the 'Exact' setting that Suzanne refers to: it's in the
drop-down by the 'Specify height' check box. Either set it to 'At least' or
uncheck the 'Specify height' box altogether.

Default Tables cutting of the top of text

I have the exact same problem as Jim Farmer - that is - The top of the
letters/numbers/data typed in the cell of a table is being cut off so it's
unreadable. I tried the remedy that Joh provided and am still having this
problem. I sent our IT personnel the problem but she only re-did the table
for me. I could re-do it but this problem re-occurs and I'd like to know HOW
to fix it in the future instead of a workaround. Thanks so Joh for your
response as well as others but hope I can find a solution badd.
