Default Word 200 requests virus check

When I double click a Word200 document, Word opens and requests a virus
check. This annoyingly slows up the access to the document that I want, which
I have created and has no viruses.
How can I prevent Word from requesting a virus check each time it opens a
document?
Thanks.

There is no virus checking capability built-in to Word. More likely that
you have the Norton AV plug-in. Disable it if you don't want to use it.

Hope this helps.
