Default Cannot get date to be correct in word

Hi Noddie,

am having trouble in Word 2000 getting the date to print out as
13 September 2006
it prints out as
13 September 2006-11-19

I know there is a way to fix this, but cannot remember what it is.

When Word shows the tooltip with 2006-11-19 press ESC to cancel it
before pressing ENTER (or TAB, or whatever your using).

To turn it off completely you have to go to Tools/AutoCorrect
options/autoText and deactivate the "Autocomplete" checkbox. But
this also means you won't see tooltips for completing AutoText
entries.

This tip is reasonable if the date were appearing as 13 September
2006-09-13, but I can't imagine why it would be 13 September 2006-11-19,
even with AutoComplete.
