Some of the names appear and some don't. I have done everything the same

Make sure that you don't have any hidden text.

Dumb question, but have you examined the data source file to see if there
actually *are* names for those records? Depending on version of Word you may be able to find out using the Sort & Filter features of Mail Merge.
