Default Best format for graphics in Word?

I'm using a resized JPG of a logo in Word. It looks fine in the .doc file but
is very blurry in the PDF output (produced w/Acrobat 8). What is the best
format to use for graphics in a Word file that will be output to PDF?

The issue is probably not so much with the graphic inserted in Word but with
the resolution you have configured in Acrobat. Change the Acrobat Conversion
Settings. If that doesn't fix it, adjust the image to the required size in a
graphics application before inserting it.

Thanks Graham. I changed the Acrobat Convertion Settings to use a more
print-optimized set, which bumped up the resolution significantly. And the
logo looks much better in both PDF and hardcopy.

For future reference though, I'd still like to know what the preferred
format is. Our graphic artist publishes JPG, EPS, GIF, and BMP of many things
and I never know which format to choose for Word. Couldn't find anything in
Word Help on this...

Thanks again for your help!

Hi K.C.,

This is one of Microsoft's basic guide to graphic file type selection in MS Office, although it doesn't specifically cover the best
practice to use if you're output medium is a PDF file.
