Default Collecting Properties Information from Word & Excel

Is there a way I can collect the properties information from both Word and
Excel into one database from multiple files? I need to compare modified times
between several documents and opening each one individually is painful.
Thanks!

Microsoft has a dll file, dsofile (use your favourite search engine to find
it), that can help with this.

A word of warning, however: file dates and times are not reliable; they may
or may not be useful - it depends what you are trying to achieve, and in
what circumstances. Also Office 2007 format files don't hold all their
properties in a way that is compatible with earlier versions.
