Default Change from title case to sentence case

I have a series of table titles using title case and want to change it to
sentence case. When I click sentence case within the toolbar button the
capitalization doesn't change. Any idea why? The table title style (based
on caption) does not dictate case. Right now the only way to change it is to
manually change each letter.

LAC:

I'm able to get the desired behavior either using the menus to set a
specific casing or using the keyboard (Shift + F3) to ring through all
possible casing settings.

The only time I've seen "contrary" behavior is when Word rightly recognizes
a sentence I don't (usually because of punctuation).

I find this function so useful, that I also reassigned it to F2, so I can
ring the selection through the casing options. I don't often try for sentence
casing, though. I usually set everything lower case, then recapitalize the
words that require it.

Thanks, that makes sense. The table title has a front section and a colon so
Word probably doesn't recognize it as a sentence.
