How do I add reference point numbers in my research paper?
This big space is to explain details of your problem, like what a "reference
point number" is. And to mention your version of Word, as it makes a difference. I'm going to guess that you want either Footnotes or Endnotes. Start with Insert | Reference | Footnote, or possibly Insert | Footnote for earlier versions. Help on "footnotes" will give you quite a lot of additional information.
