Default how do you disable the auto formatting little box in Word

I teach at a school for the visually impaired and blind student and the
little formatting box that keeps poping up in Word makes it dificult for the
partially sighted student to see the word beneath. Please can you tell me how
to diable it?

I suspect the boxes you mean are the paste options and the smart tag options
buttons. One is at tools options general, the other at Tools
Autocorrect Options Smart Tags. Uncheck both.
