Default How to define your own numbered list

How do I associate my one style of numbering to the button "Numbering" on the
formatting tool bar?

And "Bullets" as well.

Add a custom button (to any toolbar) which applies the appropriate numbered
paragraph style.

I can find the buttons - but not a blank "custom button"? If I use e.g. the
Numbering button and right click it - I dont know how to assign a specific
style?

There must be some way of using the Numbering button to "point" at your
formatting - or what?

When I click the numbering button - somehow it activates my own style - but
not compeltely... it changes the indentation.

The Numbering button on the toolbar always applies the most recently used
numbering format; there's nothing you can do about that.

Via Tools | Customize, you can add a toolbar button that applies the List
Number style (and similarly for List Bullet).

See also http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/bull...olbullets.html and
