Default Default file open location

Select Tools Options File Locations tab. In the list, click €śDocuments€ť,
then click the Modify button. In the dialog box that opens, browse to the
folder you want as the default folder. Click OK twice.

Thanks. I'm looking for the setting in Word 2007 though. I should have
specified. Sorry about that.

Hi Chap,

You can use Office Button=Word Options=Save
(Alt, T, O, S) to change the default files location in Word 2007.

Hi Chap,

Changing that location changes the default File Open location as well.

Does folder redirection within GPO also make this change

This is exactly what I was looking for, for Word 2003. I was able to
accomplish the same end result in PowerPoint (Tools | Options | Save) and
Excel (Tools | Options | General)
