Default using word template in letter wizard

When a contact is highlighted in outlook, and I select "new letter from
contact", I then choose one of my word templates in the letter wizards
"choose a page design" drop down, the result is the contacts name and address
on a blank page. None of my template information is shown.

When I go through the overly laborious task (23 mouse clicks! Ouch!)of the
mail merge wizard, the result is my template with the recipient properly
addressed. All is well except my carpel tunnel.

What's wrong with the letter wizard?

Your answer does not address my question.

This isn't how the wizard "works." Sorry. It pretty much ignores content.
