Word 2000 won't let me type a small case letter i
I can do it here, "i", and I can do it in Outlook Express, but when I
am in Word 2000, it will not let me type a lower case letter i unless it's inside or at the end of a word. If I type an i as the first letter of any word, whether at the beginning of a sentence or not, it always comes out as a capital I. I don't have caps lock on and I'm not punching any other buttons. What's up? D. |

This is the AutoCorrect 'Capitalise the first letter of a new sentence' in
action. You can turn this off in Tools, AutoCorrect, but it means that it will not catch any errors. If you only use the small i at the start of a sentence occasionally, then Ctrl+Z (Undo) immediately i changes to I to override the action. -- Terry Farrell - MS Word MVP "davidg" wrote in message ups.com... AutoCorrect will always correct i to I, assuming you mean the pronoun.
Without losing this useful functionality (by deleting the AutoCorrect entry), your best recourse when you do want a lowercase i is to press Ctrl+Z (Undo) immediately after the AutoCorrection. -- Suzanne S.
