Default Formatting %s in Mail Merges

I am having problems formatting %s in my mail merge. I want it to display as
19.4% but it shows as .194395969999570044 instead. I have tried rounding the
number in excel and also adding a numeric picture switch like \# ##.00x but
they are not working. Any good insights? Thanks.
