Just a small thing. I used to have the English UK text on my status bar which
I could double click on to get to the language settings. This has dissappered.

Has anyone any idea how I can get this back?

.... and the icon in the Windows status bar will only show when you have more
than one language enabled (since else, there's nothing to switch between).
If you do add another (Latin) language, make sure it uses the same keyboard
layout as "English".
Windows defaults to the keyboard layout which is commonly used in the
respective country, which often is not a good choice. Even if the language
does have special letters, it's simpler to use your English layout and use
the built-in Word keyboard shortcuts for them, or AltGr-combos if you have
an English International keyboard.
