Can't update Index with Concordence file
Thanks a lot for the advice, scary though it was. I've been running the
AutoMark at least once a day in order to get an idea of what the Index would look like. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try it when I finish the document. "Cindy M." wrote in message news:VA.00000720.00e8acf1@speedy... Hi Gy2, I'm using a concordence file for my Index entries and everything was going along swimmingly but now for some reason when I click on Auto Mark and then select my Concordence file, a little dialog box opens to tell me tht "No index entries were marked." I've got about 20-30 items already in the index but there are at least another dozen which are in the concordence file and are not being marked. Any idea why not? Creating an index using a Concordance is chancy, at best. Certainly, you shouldn't be running the AutoMark more than once in a document. It should be applied only at the end of the editing - and the results checked carefully once it's run. Try removing all the XE and the Index fields from the document. Chances are it will work, then. You can quickly find and remove XE fields using Edit/Replace.
