Default diacritics in word (under-dotting)

Hi there,

I have been trying to write emphatic characters (those with dots underneath
them) in MS Word (2000), while still continuing to use the Garamond font.
While word does have various characters in Insert - Symbols (such as letters
with macrons, grave and acute accents, etc.), it does not have under-dotted
Hs, Ds, Ss, etc.

I have been suggested many ways of doing this -- including a macro that
creates a dot underneath a letter (but then there are line alignment
problems) and overstriking characters (but then there is a gap following the
characters and the rest of the word). Does someone know of a way to do this,
to continue using the font, and to appear normal (seamless) with the rest of
the document?

Thanks,

D G Lewental
