Default Mail Merge Date problem

Hi,

I have a mail merge set up which runs from and Access Database. I send
letters out and the date I expect a response by is recorded in Access. There
is a query which then highlights any not responded to by said date. My mail
merge runs from this query and thus prints letters to anyone who has not
responded. In this letter a field is taken from the access record. The date
the letter was sent to them originally.

My problem is that when this is populated by the mail merge the date is
being entered in an American format but it should be British. I have tried
changing the language to English UK, I have made sure that I am set to UK on
regional settings in Control Panel. I have tried doing Insert, Date and Time
and changing that to UK but obviously that just inserts another date!!

Basically I need the imported date to be in UK format.

Default Mail Merge Date problem

See the "Dates: day/month reversed" item under the "Connection methods"
topic of the "Mail merge in Word 2002" section of fellow MVP Cindy
Meister's website at
http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindy...r/MergFram.htm

However, I would use the Format() function in your Access query to convert
the date to text.

Hope this helps.

Default Mail Merge Date problem

Thank you very much Doug.

Having read some other posts I had figured that it would be something to do
with field codes but the other websites I had visited were difficult to
follow. This one helped me with utmost clarity.

Thanks again
