I am becoming quite frustrated in getting what is a seemingly simple choir to
come to a successful conclusion:
I have been tasked to set up a default Word 2007 template and have modified
such things as Font, Font Size, line spacing, space before and after, etc.
Everything is exactly as specified, with one exception. I can not get the
default number list format to be Right Aligned. It just doesnt want to stick.
Can someone give me some possible suggestions as to what I nay be doing
incorrectly.

There is really no "default list format" in Word. You will have to create a
style with the desired settings. For single-level numbering, you can set up
a paragraph style (or modify one of the built-in, such as List Number). For
multi-level numbering, you can create a list style.

PA may be referring to the list paragraph style that W2007 assigns to
paragraphs that are bulleted or numbered via the bullet and numbering icons
on the home ribbon. That style is based on normal so should take on normal's
settings.

I could not duplicate the problem. But I can offer something to try: in Word
options advanced editing options, put a check in the box next to "Use
normal style for bulleted or numbered list".

Assuming that the OP is referring to the alignment of the *auto number*, the
settings of the List Paragraph style really aren't relevant.

normal.dotm (not normal.dotx).

That _is_ a better guess. I thought it was the paragraph that wouldn't keep
its right alignment.
