using office clipboard without launching office 2003
hi all,
wxp sp2, office 2003, i found office clipboard to be quite useful and to date unthinkingly i have launched word 2003 just so i can have the office clipboard available for use (even though i may not be using office suite at the time). i am wondering whether i can launch just the clipboard without having to open any of the office program (i.e. if i don't need to use the office suite) say from the run command line or some other way(s). thanks for help/advice. jes |

The clipboard is part of Windows, not Office ... you don't have to do
anything to use it. It's there anyway. Sorry, no. The Office clipboard is, and remains, available as long as at
least one Office app is running and the only user access to it is via an(other) Office app. Do you use Outlook? If you do, that would be good enough. Using the Office Clipboard to help in other non-Office apps is interesting. You must find it very useful. -- Enjoy, Tony "xppuser" wrote in message ... hi all, wxp sp2, office 2003, i found office clipboard to be quite useful and to date unthinkingly i have launched word 2003 just so i can have the office clipboard available for use (even though i may not be using office suite at the time). i am wondering whether i can launch just the clipboard without having to open any of the office program (i.e. if i don't need to use the office suite) say from the run command line or some other way(s). thanks for help/advice. jes |

Thanks for the responses. Guessed I stick to status quo. I don't use MS
Outlook or Outlook Express. jes "Tony Jollans" wrote: Sorry, no. The Office Clipboard is something different from the Windows Clipboard,
however; it can hold up to 24 copied items. -- Suzanne S. You do have to have some Office program open in order to use the Office
clipboard. However, the Office clipboard isn't the only way to store multiple clips. The Google search http://www.google.com/search?q=clipboard+multiple turns up lots of other programs, some of them free and others that are inexpensive. Have a look around. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. xppuser wrote: hi all, wxp sp2, office 2003, i found office clipboard to be quite useful and to date unthinkingly i have launched word 2003 just so i can have the office clipboard available for use (even though i may not be using office suite at the time). i am wondering whether i can launch just the clipboard without having to open any of the office program (i.e. if i don't need to use the office suite) say from the run command line or some other way(s). thanks for help/advice. jes |
