Locking a Hyperlink in Word
Is it possible to lock a hyperlink so that people don't see the field code
and don't have to press alt f9 to switch to the field result? It would just make it easier so that I don't have to put an explanation on my document as people tend to forget how to switch field codes. cheers |

Not without macros in the document, which would create far more problems.
Field code display is pretty basic stuff. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Addy wrote: Is it possible to lock a hyperlink so that people don't see the field code and don't have to press alt f9 to switch to the field result? No, you can't do anything at your end to affect how other users' options are
set (unless you put an AutoOpen macro in your document, but then either they get a security warning about a possible virus attack or else they have their security level set to High and the macro just doesn't run). The usual default for the option is to show field results -- if you always see field codes when you open the document, there's something wrong with your installation. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
