Default Formatting within a table

How do I select non-consecutive rows in a table to perform formatting on
specific rows.

In recent versions of Word (I think this feature may have been introduced in
Word 2002), you can select noncontiguous text by making one selection and
then pressing Ctrl while making further selections. If your version doesn't
do this, you can copy and paste formatting using Ctrl+Shift+C and
Ctrl+Shift+V.
