Default MS Word 2000 SP 3 Regarding Creation of Index.


how do i set up a hierarchical index in word? The instructions in the app
are not making it happen..

ex:
Reporting,
Methods of..........................9
Reasons for.........................23
Common Errors...................147

The syntax of XE fields has not changed since they were introduced. To
produce such a listing in any version of Word, you must mark your entries as
{ XE "Reporting:Methods of" }, { XE "Reporting:Reasons for" }, and { XE
"Reporting:Common Errors" }. If you use the Mark Index Entry dialog
(Alt+Shift+X), you enter these as "Main entry" and "Subentry," and Word
takes care of creating the XE field for you as needed.
