For ñ use Alt plus 0241 on the numeric keypad and for Ñ use Alt plus 0209.
In Word, you can also press Alt plus shift and the ~ (tilde) key, release
and then type either small or capital letter N.

Sorry,

For the second shortcut, it isn't Alt plus Shift, its Ctrl plus Shift and
the tilde key followed by the key you want under the tilde.

All the Western European language accents have easily remembered
shortcuts. Press Ctrl+ the character that most resembles the accent
(sometimes that includes Shift), release, and press the accented
letter:

tilde ~

acute '

grave `

circumflex ^

umlaut :

cedilla ,

slash-through /

and a few others (see Help)
