Default cursor

I copy pasted a page to word. After doing so I attempted to type in this same
area. This caused infomation that wasn't copied to appear. The best i could
image it link with the page I was copying and accessed the information that
appeared. I hade it hiden when i copied it. Now I can not hide it any longer.
This iformation is needless to me. So I would like to return it to the way it
was but I'm not even sure what it did. I can tell you this though. Now when I
open word i see the normal (|) for the cursor. Currently I see this (|P) but
the P is backwards on the top. I've never seen such a thing. I'm pretty sure
if I fix the "P" by removing it I will be fine. Please help me.
thank so much
