Applying formats
Is there an easy to copy formatting from one place in a document to another?
Sometimes I am ocr'ng a test and want each question to be 3pts before paragraph formatting. But I don't want to have to highlight each sentence and do all the clicking. Is there a way to format the first sentence and just copy the formating to other sentences? I have word 2K Thanks |

Applying formats
If you want *all* the paragraphs to have the same spacing, the simplest way
is to select them all before changing the paragraph formatting. That's assuming the document is for one-time use only. If you might want to re-use the document with small changes, it would be better to create a paragraph style that includes the spacing, and apply that style to the text. That way, you could change the spacing (or other formatting) of the entire document just by modifying the style's definition. If only certain paragraphs should have this formatting, change the procedure to this: Apply the spacing, either directly or by a style, to the first paragraph. Click anywhere in the next appropriate paragraph, and press F4 (the Redo command). Continue to repeat click + F4 until you've done all that needs doing. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. You can also copy and paste formatting using Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V,
but of course the best way to accomplish this, as Jay says, is with a style. -- Suzanne S.
