Problem opening a document from Windows Explorer
I have just started getting an error when selecting a Word Doc from Windows
Explorer. The error message is reported as Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions ..€¢ Check the file permission for the document or the drive. €¢ Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space. €¢ Open the file with Text Recovery converter. This is documented on the Knowledgebase (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926909/en-us) , BUT the solutions assume there is something wrong with the document, and there isn't. If I open the file from File Open in WORD it works fine. Similarly, error messages occur in EXCEL when selecting from Explorer, saying can't find the file, but the file named in the error message is not the correct path at all, and therefore doesn't exist. Excel opens it fine through File Open. Any ideas please? -- Dave P |
