Default import Word 97 doc to Word 2003 - page shows 9.5"wide, not 8.5

Word 2003 thinks the pages in this document are 9.5 inches wide. Page set-up
shows letter (8.5*11). How can I fix it? We have just upgraded from Windows
98 (Word 97) to Windows XP, Word 2003, so this is a document that was
originally in Word 97.

Do you have comments or tracked changes in the document? If so, Word is
allowing extra margin for the balloons. In printing, the document will (by
default) be reduced to fit both text and balloons on the page.
