Default Why is simple copy task made difficult in Word 2003?

With purchase of new Windows XP Professional, my Word product seems
annoyingly contrary. I created a Resume in Word 2003, I now want to
copy/paste to an online job post. Shouldn't be a problem. Been doing this
for years! Many times in your new product, when I open my document, I get no
copy option and if I right click and copy, the paste does not transfer.
What's the 2003 Word problem?

Just so you know, it's not my product. :-) You have posted your
question in a peer-to-peer newsgroup, which is hosted by Microsoft,
and those who help out are not Microsoft employees.

I suspect the main issue you are encountering is the personalized
menus and toolbars. Go to Tools/Customize and on the Options tab turn
on "Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows". While you're
there you may want to turn on "Always show full menus" as well.

I'm not sure about your paste issue since it occurs on a web page. It
could be the text box doesn't support rich text formatting??

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

A lot of the online job opening sites want text only. Did you read all of
the instructions about that?

Thanks, but that is not the problem. It's the unavailability of a "copy"

Did you activate Word? Or is this a trial version of Office that has
expired?
