Word Resizes Image
I am really frustrated I have recently installed Word XP (Office XP). I dont
know why MS Word XP is resizing all my images. I save my images in JPEG format using Adobe Photoshop. Then to print all the images withtin one page, set up everything and all I open Word XP. The problem is when I click on Insert|Pictures|From File... and select the JPEG image word makes it all large and unclear. Then I have to go into settings for the image and then on Size tab to change the size to around 74%. Now the image almost comes back to its original size but yet there are some uncear parts since the image has text. I tried opening the image with Windows Picture And Fax Viewer and it displays perfectly with that. I also saved the jpeg image with 12 quality in adobe (best quality). This never happened with word 2000. Pls help me. |

So, is there any way to fix this issue? Is there any way to force Word into
using 72dpi instead of converting it to 96dpi? "Jezebel" wrote: First, JPG is a lousy format for working with Word. In particular, JPEGs degrade when they are resized. Best format depends on the image, but GIF is usually better (which Photoshop is just as happy with). Second, the initial resizing happens because Word expects the image to be at the default resolution (usually 96 dpi), and scales it accordingly: ImportedSize = OriginalSize x OriginalResolution / 96. This was true in Word 2000 also. If you use a GIF then subsequently rescaling the image will return it to original quality also. "Tushar Manik" Tushar wrote in message ... when you are resizing images vb.net. you need to choose the right formats for the image. jepg is a degrading format when it is resized. i prefer tiff images. besides you need to adjust the default resolution.
