Bookmarks
I just started a new job and I noticed something I never saw before on
Windows Word 2003. I randomly see bookmarks throughout the document for no reason. I see them on everyone's documents. I have always set my computer where I can see the bookmark brackets but this is unusual. I would appreciate it if anyone can help. Thanks, Lisa |

Bookmarks
Have you tried to check the names of these bookmarks? If you position the
insertion point within one of the bookmarks and select Insert Bookmark, Word should automatically select that bookmark in the list. Is the bookmark named OLE_LINKx where x is a number? About the OLE_LINK bookmarks: If you copy text (or any content) from a Word document and paste it into, e.g., PowerPoint or Excel, this may generate an OLE_LINK bookmark that surrounds the copied text in Word. It is difficult to find out whether these OLE_LINK bookmarks serve any purpose. Maybe they were meant to be used if there is a link between the copied and pasted content, however, they often appear after a €śnormal€ť copy and paste. I have deleted such OLE_LINK bookmarks in several documents and never experienced that it has caused any problems. However, if you have content linked to other documents, you may need to be more careful. -- Regards Lene Fredborg DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "ll" wrote: I just started a new job and I noticed something I never saw before on Windows Word 2003.
