Number format field
In the Format, Styles and Formatting, Format Numbering, Outline tab,
Customize dialog box the Number format field contains the proposed format. In this case, "1.1.1" The "ones" in the format are shaded, I assume this means they are fields or macros or something. Is there a place where I can look at the code behind the numbers? I'm trying to figure out which ones to delete or move around. janet |

Number format field
Theoretically, the first one would be the Level 1 number, the second one
Level 2, and the third Level 3, the current level, but sometimes they can get mixed up. When that happens, the easiest thing is to delete them all and start from scratch. But if you're trying to edit outline numbering starting with Level 3, you're riding for a fall. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html -- Suzanne S.
