Default document changed from word to rtf doesnt have the same format

I have a manuscript that needs to be submitted in rtf...when I change from
the word document to rtf, the format is different - no headers/footers and
the pages are not defined appropriately. What am I doing wrong?

No idea. Did you use "File Save As...", and choose "Rich Text Format =
(*.rtf)" as the file type?
That shouldn't remove the headers and footers. Which version do you use?
