How can I modify the total number of pages to start at 1 (not i)?
How can I modify the total number of pages to not include front matter (pages
i, ii, iii, etc.) but start counting at page 1? |

You can't change the behavior of the NumPages field. If all the pages after
the front matter are in a single section, you can use the SectionPages field instead. Failing that, put a bookmark on the last page of the document (or the last page you want counted) and insert a cross-reference to the page number of that bookmark. -- Suzanne S. If you have exactly two sections in the document -- one for the front matter and one for the rest of the document -- then you can use a {SECTIONPAGES} field instead of a {PAGES} field. If the part of the document after the front matter contains multiple sections, the problem gets a lot harder. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
