Default Text to speech option should be available in MS word to help read.

While one is trying to read a MS word document, it would help is word could
read out the document over the speaker (text to speech) rather than us read
the document. This could be useful for people with eyesight problems or even
the blind. Adobe provides this option in ver 7

The text to speech feature is available in Word 2002 and Word 2003.
