Default recover lost text

I was working in a document then I must have pressed something because
suddenly my document went blank. I tried to find it on my computer but
files/folders/documents with matching names were blank as well. I only have
documents with blocks going across pages, as if encrypted. 2 documents found
are like that and the other 2 are blank.

PLEASE HELP ME RECOVER MY DATA. I have been working on this project for
several months. Dummy me never backed it up, so please help.

thank you

It's a sad story, and it doesn't have a happy ending. If you never
backed up, then there is no place on your computer to recover your
text from, period. Word doesn't make stealth backups.

If you ever printed the document, you could run that through a scanner
and an OCR program. That's about the only method that stands a chance
now.

The other files you found were temporary files that Word uses to hold
information about the document while you're working on it (see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632) and would rarely have more
than a tiny piece of the data, if any.

For the future, here are some tips.

(1) If something bad happens to a document you're working on, the
first thing to try is the Undo command. *DO NOT* close the document or
shut down Word until you've tried that -- if you panic and shut down,
the undo buffer disappears from memory and you lose your best chance
of recovery.

(2) *DO* make backups, and not just of your document -- now that
you've learned why, here's how:
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm.

(3) If you need reminding, see
