Default Templates dialog box

Is it possible to customize Word's Templates dialog box?
By default, it is filled up with Mail Merge, Memos, Publication etc etc
tabs, and I would like this dialog box to only include the templates that I
use.

Yes, it is possible. If you have Word 97 or 98, remove unwanted folders from
your User Templates folder and your Workgroup templates folder. If you have
a later version you will need to uninstall the templates you don't want.

For more on the different kinds of templates, tabs on the file new dialog,
and locations of templates folders see
