Headers and Footer Pictures print in grey scale
HI,
I'm using Office 2007 and have created headers and footers with text, jpeg and tiff files. The text prints in black, the company logos print only in grey and faded colors. Any solutions out there, please? Thank you in advance, Robert |

eHeader/footer Challenge
Hi Robert, Thanks for replying. Yes, the logos print just fine elsewhere. The problem has arisen in the attempt at creating an easily re-usable letterhead stationary with statiionary headers and footers. The footer is the real problem: when typing it can sneak onto the next page if you're not careful with how much you type. I just don't understand why things are so difficult lke this. Is there a setting that needs to be set? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks again, Robert Curzon "Robert M. A footer can't sneak onto the next page if it's inserted in the footer pane.
Are you just typing it at the bottom of the page? See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm -- Suzanne S. Headers and Footer Pictures print in grey scale
Hi Suzanne,
I have not been able to create headers or footers that maintain their color integrity, so the copy at the bottom sneaks onto the next page because it is not created as a footer. I understand this clearly. My problem is creating a header and footer, whose colors to do not turn shades of grey, instead of colors and blackest black, as in the original .jpg and/or tiff. Any ideas on solutions to my main problem? Thank you for the interest and your response! Robert Curzon "Suzanne S. Are you saying that they literally print grayed-out on paper? They're
_supposed_ to appear grayed-out on screen, until you select the header/ footer. Headers and Footer Pictures print in grey scale
Oh, gosh. Am I embarrassed! I've had terrible case of the flu, which
apparently has disengaged my brain from reality. The headers and footers print fine. I should have realized the greyed out look was not going to print that way. Problem solved. Thank you, all. Thanks for replying. Yes, the logos print just fine elsewhere. then there's probably a problem with the printer (driver). Generally, stuff in headers and footers is supposed to display a bit more "whitish," but not print that way. Does ordinary text in the footer print any differently than in the body text area? Can you reproduce this behavior with other documents, on other printers? Maybe the printer has real trouble printing _anything_ on that position on the paper ... The footer is the real problem: when typing it can sneak onto the next page if you're not careful with how much you type. It cannot sneak unto the next page when it's really in the footer, as long as you don't forget to tick "Different first page" in Page Setup.
