Cross-reference in different Word versions
I am writing a document with several tables and figures, using caition for
their headings. In the text I use the cross-reference. I sent this document for review to somebody else and he can use the links of the cross-references. But he is not able to add a new cross-reference of an excisting table. Nor is he able to add a new table with caption with a sequential number. He also cannot make a new cross-reference to the exciting Headings. I am not sure but I think he is using a Word version in another language. Could this be the problem. Thanks for your answers. It should not be for cross-references to headings (you have used the built-in heading styles for your headings, have you), but in another language version, the default figure caption will have another name. Sadly, figure captions don't travel with templates nor documents, they're installation specific. [I keep forgetting whether they're saved to the global template, or somewhere in the Registry. Doesn't really matter: your recipient simply has to create a figure caption by himself with the exact same name.] BTW, are you and your recipient using the same _version_ of Word? In that case, I would not, at least without due testing, advocate the use of the review function.
