Default preserve a hyperlink when the path of the hyperlinked file is move

Words 2003

when a hyperlinked file gets moved, is there a way to have Words 2003
automatically change the path to that file, so that the hyperlink is
preserved?

Hi M.,

It's going to depend on what you're linking to (file in same folder,
file on the internet etc) and if you're moving just one item or a
related folder of items.

For a single item that you're pointing at directly with the hyperlink, then unless there's a way that Word would know that the file
has been moved
you'd probably need to use the Edit Hyperlink feature to redirect the link
