how do you retreive documents from the hard drive after a crash?

1. Don't use the hard drive for ANY other purpose. Don't try to boot from
it. This usually means installing it as an additional drive on another computer. 2. Use some sort of disk recovery application -- Norton used to provide one, and there are quite a few Sharewares available. Jezebel is correct if it is the hard drive that has crashed, but if it is
only Word that has crashed any open documents that are capable of being recovered will be recovered automatically. Others are lost.
