Default How to print window showing folders and subfolders?

I want to search a large database systematically.
I therefore want to be able to print out lists of files. folders and sub
folders seen on the screen.
Pressing the key "print screen" or making a copy by by pressing ALT+Print
screen doesnt seem to work.

When you press Print Screen, a copy of the whole screen is copied to the
clipboard. Alt+Print Screen copies just the current window to the clipboard.
To print out either, paste the clipboard into a document, and then print.

There are macros written by others that will create a Word text listing of a
folder, if you need to have text format, instead.

But, why buy an extra program when the capability is built into Windows?

PrintScreen and Alt+PrintScreen capture the screen/active window to the
Clipboard. You can then paste the image into a Word document or any other
Windows application.

Some users mistakenly assume that PrintScreen works as it did in the
original DOS, and aren't aware that the clipboard gets invoked as an
intermediary. I read OP's query as saying that PrintScreen doesn't print
anything. If indeed it doesn't place a copy into the clipboard, then there
likely are significant OS problems. I would think that SnagIt, Collage and
other screen capture facilities go through the same system routine that
PrintScreen does, so, if it's not working, then the other programs likely
would encounter problems as well. I guess we'll see, if OP clarifies...

And I saw it as some kind of proprietary (database) software that somehow
disables Windows print screen.

For other ways to print a list of folders, see
